It’s About Time I Posted An Update!

Well! Nothing like waiting until I am well into my third trimester to give a little baby and life update. We have been going non-stop! I don’t even think I’ve had a chance to fully grasp that we will have another little one to love in just a couple of short months. But we are so excited, and are counting down the days!

I found out we were pregnant again back in November, but didn’t really start sharing until we were almost 20 weeks along. I had some issues in the beginning that definitely had me pretty anxious. When I was right around six and a half weeks, I woke up in the middle of the night bleeding pretty bad. I was able to get into ultrasound that same week thankfully, and that showed that I had one of those subchorionic hemorrhages that maybe you’ve heard about. Now if you remember from one of my blog posts way back in 2018, I have had one of these before. That same blog also that I ended up having a miscarriage at almost 11 weeks after that. So! As you can imagine, I felt extremely worried but after my ultrasound that day, I got back in my car, turned up the worship music, and prayed that God would give me the peace and strength I needed. In that moment I felt SO grateful to have the opportunity to grow another healthy baby, and was just trying to push the anxiety behind me.

I was still bleeding on and off until about twelve weeks along, then I was able to get a follow up ultrasound. I think that was part of the reason why I wasn’t really sharing about our pregnancy get. It was a huge blessing and sigh of relief though that day to see our little baby moving around and everything looking as it should. We actually kept it a secret from our kids until Christmas! Mainly because we knew once we told them.. EVERYONE would know lol! Carter and Payton both had cute reactions, Payton immediately asked “Is it a girl baby?!” She wants a little sister so bad. Carter made the comment later in the day, “I did notice your belly looked kind of bigger.” Nice Carter… Actually the other day, Carter was able to feel the baby move for the first time, and he started cracking up! Levi… isn’t quite sure what he’s in for yet, but he does always rub my belly, and say “Hi baby!” So sweet. We decided not to find out the gender, so it’ll be another surprise like Levi was!

I honestly have been feeling pretty good though, and even when I don’t, I don’t really have the time to worry about it! Which is both a blessing and a curse all in one. I haven’t slowed down all that much yet anyways. Being so busy with our other three amazing children has helped this pregnant fly by! I have felt the need to snuggle Carter, Payton, and Levi a little more though. Whether it’s after school before we get to our sports and activities, at night before bed, or in the mornings on the weekends. I just know how much things will change when the new baby gets here, so I want to make sure they know I’m always here for them no matter what too.

A few people have asked if I have had any cravings throughout my pregnancy. There hasn’t been anything too crazy, but during my first trimester I just wanted a good bagel and cream cheese as often as possible! Which being able to have some of the best ones in NYC was a huge plus LOL! Jeff recently got a brand new Traeger Grill and the burgers just taste different and so much better on it. Those are often on my mind too lol! And lately I’d have to say, PICKLES. Like really cold pickles right out of the refrigerator, have sounded absolutely amazing lately! Pregnancy is so interesting.

As far as baby names, I’m having a hard time this time around! I have some leftover from Levi’s pregnancy, but for some reason I don’t like them as much as I used to! I also feel like boy names are harder than girl names for whatever reason. But I’m sure something will come to us for both a boy and a girl, depending on what we have! I had an appointment this week, and the baby’s heartbeat was 150bpm, so now I’m leaning more towards guessing that it’s a girl? But we will find out come June! The surprise side is so much fun.

We are so grateful for all of the love and support we have received since we announced our pregnancy on our Disney trip a few weeks ago! Taking on Disney at 25 weeks pregnant was quite the experience! But also SO worth it. It was an unforgettable trip with our kids at such great ages to go! I could write a whole separate blog post on our Disney trip and a few tips to take with you the next time you go! This will most likely be our last baby, (if you asked Jeff he would say it’s definitely our last lol!) but I feel all the feels saying those words out loud for myself! So IF 😉 then announcing in Disney World was truly the cherry on top and one we will never forget.

So bring on baby #4. Another little one to tag along on all of the Janis Family adventures! With spring sports about to start up, it’ll be June before we know it! We couldn’t be more excited, and I personally can’t wait to share this last trimester with all of you! Thank you again for all of the wonderful words and prayers of support!

Lots of love & God Bless,

-Alyssa
