Scrimmage Day

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10

The stands were packed and the sun was hot, but another training camp practice is in the books!  The Browns held a scrimmage tonight with full pads so practice was the busiest I’ve seen so far.  The energy was awesome, and the fans were loving the big plays happening right in front of them, even in the heat!  There wasn’t much of a breeze so it was real toasty in the sun, but luckily we found some shade in the family lounge to mainly keep Carter cooled off while we watched practice.  And by “we” I mean the helpers I had with me tonight since my parents are in town for a few days!  My mom helped me chase Carter around so I could watch a little more of practice than I usually do.  Grandparents are the best!

Carter has recently started clapping, and it is so cute to see when he does it at practice!  It was really warm today, and I think he was ready to go sit in some air conditioning after about 20 minutes.  His cheeks were pink and rosy, but he was such a little trooper.  If you have little ones who still use a stroller, and you are going to be out in the heat, I highly recommend getting a stroller fan.  Whoever invented these is a genius!  We love ours, and it runs on AA batteries so it is super simple!  Here is the link if you would like to check it out: (https://www.amazon.com/O2COOL-Stroller-Battery-Operated-Accessories/dp/B01508UW1I/ref=sr_1_36?ie=UTF8&qid=1533346545&sr=8-36&keywords=stroller%2Bfan&th=1)

It was so great to see Jeff back in pads the past few days.  He looks great (as always), and the transition here has been going really well for us.  I can feel God telling us that this is where we are meant to be right now.  His protection over our family is something that I pray for each day.

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wing you will find refuge.”  Psalm 91:4

It’s definitely been harder than I thought not having Jeff home over the past two weeks.  To be honest, I miss the extra laundry and grocery shopping!  Camp seems to go by very slow in the beginning but eventually it becomes part of a daily routine.  I’ve been scheduling meals and naps for Carter accordingly, so we make it to practice well fed and well rested!  I think Carter is getting a little better at spotting Jeff after practice.  It makes my heart so happy watching him run up to Jeff saying “dada!”  I know Jeff loves every second he’s been able to see Carter during camp, especially when they get to wrestle and run around on the field together.  We are really looking forward to Jeff’s next day off so we can just lounge around the house and spend time together as a family.

I’ve been learning so much about myself making this move here, and I love being able to share some of these moments with everyone through this blog.  Thank you again for all of your support, and for making this so much fun for me.  I can’t wait to share the next play with you!

Lots of love and God Bless,

Alyssa
